The secondary School of Electrical Engineering Plzeň (SOUe) is a comprehensive school with theoretical and practical secondary education focusing on electrical engineering, electronics, installation and automation technology. The school is a Centre for further education in electrical engineering. The school is an authorised legal entity under the Act on Recognition of the Results of Further Education for the professional qualifications 26-021-H Lightning Rod Installer, 26-020-H Low-Current Equipment Installer, 26-019-H Electrical Switchboard Installer, 26-018-H Electrical Network Installer, 26-017-H Electrical Installation Installer.

The school provides students with a comprehensive social programme, hotel-type accommodation with full board with a choice of two main meals.

SOU Electrical Engineering currently offers secondary education with a matriculation examination and secondary education with an apprenticeship certificate in the following disciplines, as well as extension studies for graduates who have obtained secondary education with an apprenticeship certificate.

The teaching of all subjects is linked to the current requirements of the labour market. The quality of teaching has been significantly increased by the school's participation in the national system projects UNIV, QUALITY 1 - New Final Exam, NSK and others. The school has successfully solved projects from ESF, OPVK, ROP-Southwest and acts as a partner in others. It is actively involved in events organized by the city of Pilsen.

In addition to its own education, the school offers extension activities to increase the employability of graduates on the labour market by increasing professional qualifications (professional competence in electrical engineering) in cooperation with the Electrotechnical Guild of the Pilsen Region.

SOU Electrical Engineering organises short-term courses for adults within the framework of Lifelong Adult Education:

- Live Work Training Centre; EATON Training Centre; Cisco Networking Academy Program; Computer Technology Courses; ECDL and others.

The school is a member of major professional associations and societies. It enjoys close cooperation with major employers in the region.

Motivation to study of pupils is increased by the possibilities of productive activities within vocational training at social partners of SOU Elektrotechnicky Plzeň. A significant role in the life of the school is played by long-term international partnerships and the school's involvement in Erasmus+ mobility projects with a partner school in Germany and partner schools in Slovakia and Croatia.

The school has a school counselling centre to provide pedagogical and psychological counselling and to prevent undesirable negative phenomena.

The school operates a school canteen with a choice of two main meals and a hotel-type youth hostel (all on the school premises). All rooms of the youth hostel are equipped with high-speed internet connections. The school has very easy transport accessibility.

The classrooms, laboratories and vocational training workshops have modern ICT technology along with high-speed internet access.

As part of leisure activities, pupils have the opportunity to enjoy sports activities (table tennis, netball, floorball, volleyball, football, etc.) on the school premises. Other sports and cultural activities are offered by the city facilities (swimming stadium, athletics stadium, theme sports parks, etc.).
