Advances in additive manufacturing: From technology fundamentals to optimization of metal component surfaces in the Czech-Bavarian border region
Specific examples of advanced 3D printing technologies, tips on their use in industry and intensive networking
We invite you to a specialized workshop focused on innovative technologies of 3D printing of metal materials and their subsequent surface treatment. The event is intended for all those who want to learn more about the possibilities of using these modern technologies in industrial practice, the benefits for companies and the current results of interesting projects. The workshop also offers a unique opportunity for networking and making new contacts in the industry, which we will conclude with a social evening and an excursion to an interesting Bavarian company in the region.
21 and 22 November 2024, OTH Amberg-Weiden
The programme will feature Czech and Bavarian companies working with these technologies and sharing their experiences. Project research teams from COMTES FHT, OTH Amberg-Weiden and the Cham Technology Campus will present research results that can be used by various industries.
The following topics are prepared:
Why do we print metals and what does it bring us?
- An introduction to 3D metal printing, its benefits and why companies are increasingly interested in it.
Surface treatments and their importance in an industrial environment
- Information and suggestions why companies need surface treatments for additively manufactured parts and how they affect the functional properties of products. Presentation of cooperation with Czech and Bavarian companies.
Laser technology and laser shock peening (LSP)
- The use of laser technologies and their contribution to improving the mechanical properties of 3D printed parts.
Induction heat treatment of additive manufacturing parts
- Induction heating technology and its specific applications for 3D printed metal parts.
Project results and testing possibilities
- Presentation of specific AM SURF research results and applications that have potential for industrial use. Possibilities of testing 3D printed parts.
As places are limited, we kindly ask you to register in advance via the online form.
The AM SURF project strengthens the research and innovation capacities of the Czech-Bavarian region through close cooperation between leading research institutions and companies. We would now like to present the first results of the project, which can help to make the work with these parts more efficient in various industries. More about project AM SURF.
The AM SURF project is supported by the European Union.
